Frontage Roads Between Yarrington and Center Street to
Become One-way on Saturday, June 28th
Next weekend, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin changing the direction of the two-way frontage roads on Interstate 35 to one-way frontage roads between San Marcos and Kyle, from FM 150 (Center Street) and Yarrington Road, a distance of approximately 2.9 miles.
On Saturday, June 28th at 8pm, work will begin on the northbound frontage road. Once work in the northbound direction is complete, crews will proceed to convert the southbound frontage raod. The change will involve re-striping and placing additional signs along Interstate 35 to alert and direct motorists to the new, one-way condition. It is expected that the conversion of the frontage roads will be complete by Sunday.
The Interstate 35 frontage road conversions are part of a larger $12.2M project. Once complete, the existing Yarrington Road bridge overpass will be replaced and turnaround bridges in both the northbound and southbound direction will be installed. The contractor for the 20-month long project is OHL USA, Inc.
