Several staple retail giants have established themselves in the Texas Hill Country for some time. However, many have not always grown alongside their community.
As Texas' second fastest-growing city, Kyle has seen a boom in business and jump in population growth. To keep up with the developing region, Target has slated its local store for a multimillion-dollar renovation.
Just over 20 miles away from Austin, the city's local Target is expected to see a $2,260,168 upgrade. The 99,347 storefront located at 5188 Kyle Centre Drive Kyle, TX 78640, will undergo its construction in 2025, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.
Construction is slated to begin next spring and is expected to have a quick turnaround of under four months. An estimated start date is listed as April 28, 2025, with a completion date of August 1, 2025, according to the TDLR filing.
The scope of the work on the Kyle Target is limited, with filing describing work as a "remodel of existing Target store." It's unknown if the upgrades will stretch outside the building walls and into the parking lot, such as upgrades to its widely known drive-up availability.
Insider Monkey ranked the region as the second fastest-growing city in the Lone Star State as its population jumped 23.74% from 2020 to 2022, according to previous reports.
MySA has reached out to the retail giant for additional details on the scheduled upgrade and its impact on store hours.
